personally I wish they would introduce control order measures inside Greenwich Park (alas this does not come under Greenwich Borough jurisdiction as far as I'm aware) as there are frequently big & small dogs tearing allover the place after squirrels,in front of cars/children/elderly or disabled people etc...
also it would put an end to the Pitbull & Pitbull"type" owners dogs from terrorising other dogs in the park so easily!
Unfortunately there are lots of dog owners who still do not pickup their dogs poos & are quite happy to leave it (especially the bigger dogs massive piles of it eughh!) so I hope they make it a hanging offence to leave your dogs poo behind! lol

The thing is, even if you don't agree with some of the dog control measures, the situation is IF irresponsible dog owners continue to allow their dogs to run amock, poo allover the grass or pavement, run off causing accidents, attack other dogs/people in the park (or on the street) ETC ETC ETC then eventually it will cause Authorities to ban all dogs from everywhere (whether on lead or not!) and bring in even worse legislation & licensing laws etc...
As a toydog owner who has owned both large and small breeds & crossbreeds I would very much welcome any steps for ALL dogs to be on the lead in public places (with designated areas for dogs to be let off-lead as in the US).
In the past 2 yrs since I started my group I have heard of several instances of dogs being killed/injured either by being runover or attacked by dogs that were off-lead.

No doubt not everyone will agree with this ;)
